VISA INFORMATION

Information for Foreign Nationals

The HPCS 2017 participants who need to apply for a visa to Italy should begin the visa application process as soon as possible. This could be very lengthy process that takes several weeks. DO NOT WAIT.

Check with the Italian Consulate or Embassy for their requirements and time constraints very early on. The time may vary due to the summer season. The visa issued will be a Schengen visa, which is valid for travel in all Schengen member states (unless otherwise indicated). For visa requirements, travel documents accepted by Italy, the list of countries whose nationals must be in possession or not of visas when crossing the external borders, where you apply, application forms, processing charges and time, types of visa, please visit the consular information on the web site of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy at http://www.esteri.it/mae/en/.

It is advisable to have a minimum of six months validity on your passport from the date of your entry into Italy.

Italy has an extensive network of Consulates and Embassies abroad that provide a series of services. Get to know the services provided by the Consulates at: http://vistoperitalia.esteri.it/home/en and http://www.esteri.it/mae/en/ministero/servizi/sportello_info/domandefrequenti/sezione_visti_entrare_in_italia.html.

VISA LETTERS

All visa inquiries must be handled by the HPCS 2017 Registration Chairs. Please send your request for a letter in support of a visa application to the Registration Chairs at the emails listed on the Registration page: Lane Velayo, Jess Lanore at Lane@stratfordnorthernconsulting.com and Mohamed Bakhouya at bakhouyahpcs@gmail.com. Include your name, affiliation, mailing address, phone and fax numbers, working emails, as well as the name of the symposium/workshop/track you are attending. (Authors of papers/posters should also include the paper’s title and number). The Registration Chairs may require additional information or documents before they are able to issue any letter of support.

Email Subject: Visa Letter HPCS 2017

Please note that HPCS does NOT issue formal letters of invitation to any of its session/track/workshop participants.

Only registered authors, sponsors, exhibitors, and participants may receive such support letters.

PLEASE contact the Registration Chairs before you proceed with next steps and in case you have any further questions. This is especially important for non-authors.

To be on the safe side, please plan for alternate presenter(s) of your work in case the visa application takes much longer or does not get approved. Make such alternate plan early on. These are possibilities in this day and age.

NOTE to interested attendees who are NOT authors, nor contributors, nor organizers:

If you wish to attend the conference and have a visa letter, you must contact the registration chairs before you register. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. Please explain why you wish to attend, what is your business, what kind of support you have, and provide full documentations as requested by the registration chairs prior to registering. We only provide letters when your folder is complete to our satisfaction. We strongly advise you not to register before that since there are no refunds issued and other actions may be taken.
